What good could an Institutum Liturgicum do?

I have been asking myself and some wiser friends what good anInstitutum Liturgicum would be able to do in the English and Welsh Church and in the world. A blog is an ambiguous tool, yet it may prove useful to inform others and to present my thoughts and any developments.

I want an IL established to educate the next generation of liturgical scientists and liturgical practitioners in England and Wales. This project’s aim, “to promote the study of the Church’s worship” is very similar to those of the Society of St Gregory. We would have to be united in wanting to promote good practice, responsible communication and adult behaviour.
